Drive-in Movies Are Nostalgic And Bring the Community Together

More than 130 students travel 70 miles round-trip from Dulce, New Mexico to attend school in the Archuleta School District. They receive services that are not always adequate within their own school district. The Governor of New Mexico recently made accommodations for students attending school across state lines during the pandemic.

Several organizations celebrated in July after the last piece of ranchland was protected in the Navajo River Watershed located in the southern San Juan Mountains. The final conservation easement in this area is a big win for neighboring towns to protect water supplies in Colorado and New Mexico. It will also benefit the next generation of working ranchers and supports an important wildlife corridor for many species.

The Pagosa Springs Dance Academy held their recital outdoors at Centennial Park this year after their spring recital was canceled. Hikers and cyclers will soon have a new trail that will connect the towns of Mancos and Cortez to Mesa Verde National Park thanks to one of the largest grants awarded to this project since its inception. The trail made the list of 16 trails that Governor Polis prioritized for his "Colorado the Beautiful" program.
